Meetings with people provide energy for ecumenical peace work

On 22 June, I was the only participant from the WCC central committee meeting at an Anglican service in the Thokoza township in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was a dedicated service with a warm atmosphere. Seated in the front of the church, many people came forward to say welcome,” and they also helped me with a Bible and an agenda for the service. 

Episcopal bishops visit WCC

Bishop Sean Rowe, presiding bishop of The Episcopal Church (USA); Bishop Mark Edington, bishop in Charge of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe; and Right Bishop Rev. Peter Eaton, bishop of southeast Florida visited the World Council of Churches (WCC).

Courage to work together

Courage is what is needed from us at this point in time. This is one of the thoughts that stuck with me from the 2025 Working Together meeting of WCC. It was my second time attending and once again an enriching space of not only sharing information but building relationships, joint learning, and encouragement.

WCC key partners gather for bi-annual roundtable

Leaders of specialized ministries that collaborate with the World Council of Chruches (WCC) gathered online on 7 May with the WCC general secretary and members of his staff. The bi-annual meeting is an important step in shaping the vision and priorities of the WCC.

Executive Committee meeting

16 - 17 June 2025

The 25-person Executive Committee is the WCC governing body, with members from churches in every region. It meets twice a year to monitor ongoing work, supervise the budget and deal with policy matters referred to it by the Central Committee.
