Prior to the 55th UNAIDS Program Coordinating Board meeting in Nairobi, the World Council of Churches (WCC) and UNAIDS organized an “HIV and Faith Youth Academy” for young people on 9 December. 

As interfaith leaders and diverse communities gathered in Zambia from 25-27 November, they emerged with the clear message that providing correct information about HIV is a crucial role for churches. 

During a World Council of Churches (WCC) prayer on 2 December, those gathered commemorated World AIDS Day, which was observed 1 December, and also prayed with the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle for the people and churches of Myanmar and Thailand.

In the busyness of AIDS 2024, the 25th International AIDS Conference in Munich, Germany, people of faith met for a moment of silence, reflection, and prayer under the theme "Sustaining Hope for All: Remembering, Celebrating, and Praying for a Future without AIDS."
