At the 57th Human Rights Council side event titled “Reimagining Development: Inclusive Models for Sustainable and Equitable Development,” the World Council of Churches (WCC) reinforced its leadership role in advocating for inclusive, sustainable development. WCC event in Armenia explores transformative diakonia for global justice

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Diakonia Reference Group event began on 30 September in Yerevan, Armenia, focusing on transformative action to address some of the world’s most pressing issues. Opening the gathering, Rev. Dr Kenneth Mtata, WCC programme director for Public Witness and Diakonia, urged churches to tackle the systemic roots of global challenges, such as climate change, violent conflict, and inequality.

WCC convenes Ecumenical Diakonia Reference Group to tackle global crises

From 30 September to 2 October, the World Council of Churches (WCC) will convene the inaugural meeting of the Ecumenical Diakonia Reference Group in Yerevan, Armenia. The meeting will provide WCC partners and member churches with a platform to explore new approaches to diaconal work, address urgent global challenges, and foster stronger partnerships.

Creative minds are working on “Women Inspiring Justice” exhibition

Plans for an exhibition with the working title Women Inspiring Justice: Ecumenical Responses to the 12 Critical Areas of the 1995 Beijing Platform for Action” are underway, sparking creative ideas and input into how we lift up women within the World Council of Churches (WCC) who have been trailblazers in many ways.
