6th Meeting of the Ecumenical Panel on a New International Financial and Economic Architecture (NIFEA)

25 - 27 March 2025

The Ecumenical Panel on NIFEA will convene for its 6th meeting to address the growing global economic inequality, climate catastrophe, and explore alternative economic systems in this Jubilee year. This collaborative effort between the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Lutheran World Federation, World Methodist Council, and Council for World Mission brings together experts in economics, finance, sociology, and theology to chart a path toward a more just and sustainable economic architecture.

Protestinfo and Le Temps present WCC general secretary Jerry Pillay

The newspaper Le Temps recently published a portrait written by Protestinfo on the general secretary of the World Council of Churches, the Reverend Professor Jerry Pillay. In the article, Pillay shares stories from his childhood and also reflects on what motivates him today: his desire to heal a broken world. The article is written by journalist Lucas Vuilleumier from Protestinfo.

The year 2023 was one of new beginnings: the WCC central committee met in person for the first time since the WCC 11th Assembly in Karlsruhe in September 2022, the WCC commissions newly convened, and implementation of the WCC Strategic Plan for 2023- 2030 started. The WCC Annual Review includes a special visual section commemorating the WCC’s 75th anniversary and highlighting an unprecedented number of exhibitions that graced the Ecumenical Centre.
