Meetings with people provide energy for ecumenical peace work

On 22 June, I was the only participant from the WCC central committee meeting at an Anglican service in the Thokoza township in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was a dedicated service with a warm atmosphere. Seated in the front of the church, many people came forward to say welcome,” and they also helped me with a Bible and an agenda for the service.

WCC signs new childcare operator opening January 2026

The World Council of Churches (WCC) signed a new operating agreement with the childcare service provider Bubbles, marking a milestone in the long-awaited opening of a daycare center located on the ground floor of the Montreal building in the Green Village complex. The World Council of Churches, together with partner organisations, will co-host this Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development side event bringing faith and community leaders together to explore urgent solutions to the world's escalating financial, social, and ecological crises. This collaborative initiative will present concrete proposals for mobilising resources for economic wellbeing, social protection, and planetary restoration.
