Under the theme, “Mission in the Contexts of Empire,” the World Council of Churches journal International Review of Mission examines issues of Christian mission and empire in the history of key events being marked in 2025 and the mission systems, assumptions, mindsets, and practices they created.

Bishop Dr Jonas Jonson, bishop emeritus of the diocese of Strängnäs in the Church of Sweden, and Dr Birgitta Rubenson visited the World Council Churches 8-10 April. 

On the 80th anniversary of the execution of Dietrich Bonhoeffer for his opposition to Hitler, the moderator of World Council of Churches has paid tribute to the deep faith of the German theologian, saying his life and witness continue to inspire the ecumenical movement.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Permanent Committee on Consensus and Collaboration (PCCC) convened online on 1 April under the leadership of co-moderators H.E. Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Bishop Sally Dyck.
