Der Pilgerweg der Gerechtigkeit, der Versöhnung und der Einheit ist eine immer noch geltende Einladung an die Kirchen, sich gemeinsam auf den Weg zu machen. Mit diesem Jahresrückblick 2024 wollen wir kleine Einblicke in diesen gemeinsamen Weg ermöglichen: flüchtige Eindrücke von einem laufenden Pilgerweg, einem Pilgerweg, der vor dem Hintergrund der vielen verschiedenen globalen Entwicklungen, die unermessliches Leid über die Menschen gebracht haben, aktiv Hoffnung zu vermitteln versucht. Wir hoffen, dass wir auf den folgenden Seiten zeigen können, wie christliche Gläubige und christliche Kirchen in der ökumenischen Gemeinschaft heute zusammenleben – wie wir in unserer weltweiten Gemeinschaft von Kirchen nicht nur in unserem gemeinsamen christlichen Glauben zusammenkommen, der maßgebliches Herzstück für uns ist und bleibt, sondern auch bei den Themen, die uns besonders am Herzen liegen: Gerechtigkeit, Liebe, Frieden und Hoffnung. Das ist Imperativ unseres Glaubens, unsere eindeutige Berufung und Gottes Mission in der Welt.

Le Pèlerinage de justice, de réconciliation et d’unité appelle les Églises à s’engager dans un cheminement commun. Dans ce Rapport annuel 2024, nous présentons un aperçu du cheminement en cours: une page qui s’écrit au fil de ce pèlerinage porteur d’une espérance active, même au coeur de tendances mondiales sources de souffrances humaines incommensurables. Nous espérons que ces pages vous permettront de découvrir comment les chrétien-ne-s et leurs Églises vivent aujourd’hui leur communion oecuménique, comment nous unissons notre communauté mondiale d’Églises, non seulement autour de notre foi chrétienne commune – qui demeure le coeur vivant de notre engagement –, mais aussi autour de valeurs fondamentales telles que la justice, la charité, la paix et l’espérance. Tels sont l’impératif de la foi, notre vocation claire, et la mission de Dieu dans le monde.

The WCC Annual Review 2024: Pursuing Peace Together presents the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity in progress. This pilgrimage brings active hope even amid global trends that have brought incalculable human suffering. 

“We hope these pages will show the ways in which Christians and Christian churches are living their ecumenical fellowship today—the ways in which we unite our worldwide fellowship of churches not only around our shared Christian faith, which remains our vital centre, but also in the specific interests of justice, love, peace, and hope,” writes WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay in an opening message. 

The annual review also shows how WCC member churches have been standing up for truth, siding with the poor, and holding out hope amid injustices and suffering.
