During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, staff of the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva joined a Monday morning prayer at the Chapelle des Crêts of the Protestant church of Geneva, reflecting on the theme of the 2025: “Do you believe this?”

During an interfaith service in Memphis, Tennessee, on 20 January at the Healing Cathedral Christian Church, hundreds of people gathered in-person and online to commemorate Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy and to respond to deep injustices plaguing the United States.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has newly published Caribbean Rising…On a Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace, a collection of articles that reflect the rhythm of Caribbean orature and storytelling. 

As the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle this week is dedicated to the churches and people of the Caribbean, ambassadors and staff of various region’s Missions to the UN are joining the morning prayers organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC).

To prepare the resources of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity for the year 2026, a joint international editing group with representatives from the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity and the Faith and Order Commission of the World Council of Churches (WCC) met in Etchmiadzin, Armenia from 12-18 October.

Churches and Christian communities worldwide are invited to use the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2025 resources which are now available online in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Arabic.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Indigenous Peoples Network Reference Group is convening for the first time in-person at the WCC Ecumenical Institute at Bossey from 12-13 October to plan the work ahead.  The main objectives will be to build community and begin to shape plans and priorities.
