Students who complete the World Council of Churches’ (WCC) Global Ecumenical Theological Institute will now receive academic credits and a certificate from the University of Geneva—a new addition to the institute, which has been offering its courses for more than a decade. 

The Asian Ecumenical Institute, a month-long ecumenical formation training organised by the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) in collaboration with the World Council of Churches (WCC), concluded with a valedictory ceremony.

The Asian Ecumenical Institute began on 22 July in Chiang Mai, Thailand, opening a month-long exploration of the theme “Creation Care and Eco-Justice: Our Faith and With-ness.” 

A team from the World Council of Churches (WCC) visited Egypt at the invitation of the Coptic Orthodox Church to plan for the 2025 World Conference on Faith and Order to take place at the Logos Papal Center at Wadi El Natrun, near Alexandria. 

The latest issue of The Ecumenical Review – the quarterly journal of the World Council of Churches (WCC) – highlights the work of participants at the Global Ecumenical theological Institute (GETI) held in conjunction with the WCC 11th Assembly held in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 2022.

Applications are open for the Global Ecumenical Theological Institute 2025, being held in Wadi el Natrun, near Alexandria, Egypt, 12-29 October 2025. 

The application deadline is 15 October 2024.

The WCC Commission on Education and Ecumenical Formation opened its meeting at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, on 25 June. 

As six graduates from the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey received their Master of Advanced Studies in Ecumenical Studies certificates, they celebrated the joy of dialogue in a spiritual haven that will imprint the rest of their lives.

World Council of Churches (WCC) Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay met with the students of the Masters in Advanced Studies programme at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey on 13 May to listen to their experiences and insights as they are about to finalise their thesis.
