The World Council of Churches (WCC) will begin a “Campaign of Hope: Mental Health and Wellbeing for All” and convene a global alliance to enable faith communities to become environments that promote and sustain mental health and wellbeing.

Since 1980, the annual Right Livelihood award has highlighted individuals and organizations whose work promotes justice, peace, and sustainability for all, but might otherwise not receive the recognition they deserve. On 3 October, Right Livelihood announced four new laureates, continuing this tradition.

On 4 October, the World Council of Churches (WCC) will join global faith leaders and youth in a prayer service to close the Season of Creation. Themed “To Hope and Act with Creation,” with a focus on the Fossil Fuel Phase-Out Initiative, this youth-led event calls on faith communities to unite in prayer and action to address the climate crisis.

A conversation on 1 October focused on youth and persons with disabilities as the World Council of Churches (WCC) continued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the WCC Ecumenical Disability Advocates Network. 

The Felm visited the World Council of Churches, strengthening collaboration and dialoguing about church cooperation, development, peace and reconciliation, and humanitarian aid. The Felm works with local Lutheran churches and non-governmental organizations in 24 countries around the world, aiming to promote human dignity and justice.
