The World Council of Churches (WCC) is mourning the loss of His Beatitude Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas I, head of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in India.

The Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar and Old-Catholic Church in Switzerland convened at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey on 3 October. The group also paid a visit to the new offices of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in Geneva.
