As significant religious observances approach in Jerusalem, the World Council of Churches (WCC) has been sharing a video detailing violations of freedom of worship and the urgent need to safeguard the city as a shared sacred space.

Ramadan (1-30 March), Palm Sunday (13 April), and Holy Fire Saturday (19 April), are all approaching, with the concern that, in recent years, access to holy sites has been increasingly restricted, with heavy Israeli police and military presence limiting the faithful’s ability to worship freely and with dignity.

The video serves as an advocacy tool for WCC partners as they grow awareness of the situation.
