The World Council of Churches has a long history of accompaniment and solidarity with the churches and people of Colombia in the search for justice, human rights, and an end to the prolonged armed conflicts that have ravaged the country for more than seven decades,” reads the text. 

The executive committee reaffirmed the WCC’s commitment to continue accompanying and working with churches and ecumenical, interreligious, and civil society partners in Colombia, and on the path toward peace and justice for the Colombian people, especially by advocating with and for the most vulnerable and marginalized people and communities.”

The WCC executive committee is meeting online 8 to 12 June.
