The book debuted at the Bread for the World 50th anniversary celebration during a Pan African Consultation on 9 June.
As hunger and poverty continue to disproportionately affect Pan-African communities around the world, A Legacy of Faith and Justice tells a different story—one of hope, unity, and powerful leadership. The book celebrates the passion, leadership, and unwavering faith of often-overlooked figures in ecumenical and social justice narratives.
“This is more than a historical account,” said Walker-Smith. “It’s a call to action—a challenge to honor and extend a legacy of faith and justice that spans generations and continents.”
The book marks a significant moment as it celebrates five decades of impact through Bread for the World, where Walker-Smith serves as a strategist for Pan African and Orthodox Faith Engagement. With contributions that outline contextual and policy trends, A Legacy of Faith and Justice also offers a roadmap for advancing hunger advocacy in today’s global landscape—especially within Pan-African communities.
