The meeting will bring together Staff, WCC consultative bodies, and networks, including CARE network, made up of people who are actively engaged in racial justice work, anti-caste, and anti-xenophobia work in various parts of the world. This WCC gathering aims to energize ecumenical anti-racism actors.
A brief presentation on decolonizing and un-demonizing ancestors will be given by Ms Li’Tsoanelo Zwane, a lecturer at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.
Planned to be a meeting for sharing and listening, the meeting, by invitation only, will also be a “marketplace” where ideas, better practices, and resources are freely shared and alliances built. It will also serve as an opportunity to share plans for 2026 and to build bridges of solidarity allowing for different actors from different contexts to consider participating in each other’s activities in solidarity and accompaniment. The meeting will also explore the idea of an in-person ecumenical anti-racism conference.
Small group discussions will allow participants an opportunity to share their own experiences but also to closely question and seek clarification from peers on the import of shared interventions.
