The 16 Days campaign is being observed from 25 November to 10 December. It began on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and will end on Human Rights Day, aiming to raise awareness and mobilize action to end all forms of gender-based violence against women and girls.

We ask you to pause during these days and consider the stories of many women and girls across the world who have survived digital violence—and how we can prevent this from happening in the first place,” said Rev. Nicole Ashwood, WCC programme executive for a Just Community of Women and Men. Please, share these cards, your prayers, and your resources to help advance this cause.”

Special prayers will also reflect on how preventing gender-based violence is crucial for promoting health and wellbeing across the world.

Director of the WCC Commission of the Churches on Health and Healing Dr Manoj Kurian encouraged people to have transformative conversations on how they can break patterns of gender-based violence in their churches, homes, and communities.

With theological and biblical reflections, we will offer a chance to shape unique perspectives to see this critical issues in a new light,” he said.
