The group, led by Pastor Samuel Zahn, representing Church District 6 of the Reformed Church of Zurich, is in the midst of an ecumenical educational trip from 15-19 June.
Visitor Theresa Romano, a Catholic from the Guthirt Parish in Zurich, said she is interested in not only her own Catholic community but other faith communities as well.
“I am not only interested in Catholic and Reformed Christianity, but in all types of Christianity,” she said. “There is too little interest in religion in the world; people think it is outdated because it doesn’t matter in their lives.”
After being introduced to the WCC, she said: “I am more conscious of the problems.”
Zahn described the visit as a great experience. “We went on a two-hour guided tour in Geneva this morning, and I thought that maybe the group would be too tired,” he said. “But I think everyone was very excited and we all had a great time.”
The WCC Visitors Programme receives 800-1,000 visitors annually from all over the world. In the last few weeks, in addition to local and regional visitors, the WCC has hosted groups from the UK, US, and South Korea.
