He will meet with the National Christian Council of Norway, offering reflections and participating in a conversation on the theme “Public theology in a time of division.” Bedford-Strohm will focus on the Ecumenical Decade of Climate Justice Action, relations with the Russian Orthodox Church and war in Ukraine, and work for just peace in the Middle East. Conversations will also cover ecumenism in Norway.
Bedford-Strohm will be interviewed by the Christian daily newspaper Vårt Land, the biggest such publication in the nation.
He will participate in a theological symposium at VID Specialised University, offering a keynote address with Rev. Prof. Dr Stephanie Dietrich, moderator of the WCC Faith and Order Commission, on “The Word in the public sphere.”
Bedford-Strohm will meet with Church of Norway representatives involved in the World Council of Churches, then conclude his visit with an excursion with Most Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, Church of Norway presiding bishop.
