Wayland Baptist Theological Seminary conferred an honorary doctorate on Rev. Dr Angelique Keturah Walker-Smith, strategist for Pan-African and Orthodox Faith Engagement, Bread for the World, National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA governing board member, and World Council of Churches president from North America.
Walker-Smith earned the “Ecumenical Harbinger Award” for her “spectacular, practical, prophetic, priestly, and pastoral effect,” according to the programme. “You bring extensive global, national, local experience as a faith and public engagement thought leader, journalist, speaker, broadcaster, scholar, preacher, and author.”
The Wayland Baptist Theological Seminary conferred the degree of Doctorate of Strategic Leadership, honoris causa.
