Bringing together about 100 students and facilitators from diverse confessional and cultural backgrounds, GETI 2025 will guide participants through six weeks of deep theological engagement shaped by a rich and carefully curated curriculum. Each week centres on a core theme, ranging from “Unity in Diversity” to “Decolonizing Justice and Trauma-Informed Reconciliation,” and other in-depth topics.
GETI 2025, organized alongside the Faith and Order Sixth World Conference, will fully integrate into the conference during GETI’s final week, providing participants with a unique opportunity to engage with a significant global ecumenical gathering. This integration highlights the commitment to theological depth and global Christian dialogue.
GETI 2025 will emphasize intercultural exchange, theological immersion, and collaborative praxis. Sessions will be delivered through interactive lectures, contextual immersions, worship experiences, and small group discussions.
The residential phase of the program will focus on four key thematic pillars: Ecumenical and Interfaith Engagement; Justice, Peace, and Reconciliation; Public Theology and Christian Witness; and Spirituality and Formation in a Changing World.
The GETI Curriculum-Methodology and Study Material Working Group, comprising ecumenical leaders from around the world, played a central role in shaping the curriculum. Their expertise reflects a broad spectrum of Christian traditions and global contexts.
“The finalization of the GETI 2025 Curriculum and Methodology Booklet is a significant achievement and a clear testimony to the collaborative spirit that defines GETI,” said Prof. Dr Ani Ghazaryan Drissi, coordinator of GETI 2025. “This milestone will guide students in becoming thoughtful, faithful, and justice-seeking leaders for the church and the world. They will gain valuable knowledge and expertise in the ecumenical movement, the work and history of the WCC Commission on Faith and Order, and the key thematic issues the World Council of Churches is addressing today.”
The programme will follow a blended learning format, beginning with a four-week online phase from 15 September to 12 October 2025, followed by a residential phase from 12-29 October 2025 at the ancient St Bishoy Monastery in Wadi El Natrun, near Alexandria, Egypt.
