The 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches is held in Karlsruhe, Germany from 31 August to 8 September, under the theme "Christ's Love Moves the World to Reconciliation and Unity."

Highlights on 2 September include:

Thursdays in Black. Larissa Garcia, Methodist Church in Brazil, and a Thursdays in Black ambassador, says: Seeing the way that the campaign organizes and branches out all the possibilities, and the safe spaces it creates—its incredible.”

The beauty of the assembly. Juliette Marchet, a steward from the Union of Protestant Churches of  Alsace and Lorraine, says: “I think it’s a really crazy meeting place! We are everywhere on the planet. We chat with each other and we are not afraid to talk.”

How diverse are we? Joyful greetings from assembly participants around the world.
