The research fellowship forms part of the institutes spring semester academic programme and is designed to provide students with a structured and in-depth exposure to the programmatic work of the WCC. During the placement period, students will be assigned to different programmatic areas, where they will gain firsthand insight into ecumenical engagement at the global level.

For the 2025-26 academic year, participating students and their placements are:

  • Rev. Ntobeko Dlamini, Republic of South Africa, Methodist Church of Southern Africa, Commission on World Mission and Evangelism
  • Nikola Filipovic, Republic of Serbia, Serbian Orthodox Church, Faith and Order
  • Rev. Jabu Jay Singh Mani, Republic of India, Church of South India, WCC Human Rights Programme, Commission of the Churches on International Affairs

The research fellowship seeks to bridge academic formation and practical ecumenical work, enabling students to deepen their understanding of how theological reflection is translated into action within an international ecclesial context. It is hoped that the coming weeks will offer many opportunities for meaningful interaction, dialogue, and mutual learning.
