An 11-week “Faith and Genetics” course jointly offered from September to December by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and Christian Medical College will share and discuss ethical concerns to ensure that progress in genetics serves humanity holistically and builds public trust. 

The World Council of Churches will host a hybrid event entitled “Follow the Money: Multilateral Development Banks, Fossils Fuels and Climate Justice” on 14 October.

The webinar  will take its theme from the official FAO World Food Day 2026: “Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow.” The discussion will explore what innovation can look like when we place food security, water, land, human rights and ecological sustainability at the centre.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission on Faith and Order will meet with two plenary panels on “Faith and Order in Sweden and the Nordics.” 

The second session of the webinar series explores companionship not only as a theological idea, but as a practical method for shaping Pilgrimage encounters. 

The 25-person Executive Committee is the WCC governing body, with members from churches in every region. It meets twice a year to monitor ongoing work, supervise the budget and deal with policy matters referred to it by the Central Committee.

The third session of the webinar series focuses on the ethical dimensions of companionship, especially where relationships are shaped by unequal power, privilege, resources, race, gender, geography, or institutional status.

The fourth session of the webinar series turns to the lived practices of companionship in concrete ecclesial, social, and cultural contexts.

The Central Committee serves as the chief governing body of the WCC until the next assembly, meeting every 2 years. It is responsible for carrying out the policies adopted by the Assembly, reviewing and supervising WCC programmes and the budget of the Council.
