"While the world has never been wealthier, many countries face devastating debt burdens, and developing nations need $4.3 trillion annually to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, including $1.8 trillion for climate resilience," said Athena Peralta, director of the WCC Commission on Climate Justice and Sustainable Development.

Roundtable discussions will feature faith-rooted, ethical perspectives on alternative financing models for a climate-resilient future that leaves no one behind.

Key Events:

  • Panel 1: Addressing debt, tax justice, and climate finance challenges
  • Panel 2: Perspectives from ecclesial leaders, youth, and women advocates
  • Interactive discussions following each panel session

This side event is co-organised by the World Council of Churches, World Communion of Reformed Churches, Lutheran World Federation, World Methodist Council, Council for World Mission, United Society Partners in the Gospel, and All Africa Conference of Churches.
