Interfaith gathering in the spirit of Talanoa dialogue @SB62
These intercessional climate negotiations serve as a critical platform between COP29 and COP30 for advancing technical discussions on climate implementation and policy.
This gathering provides a safe, respectful, trusting, and supportive space for people of faith to reflect on three essential questions concerning the climate crisis in the context of challenges to multilateralism and peace: Where are we? Where do we want to go? How do we get there?
Talanoa reflects a process of inclusive, participatory, and transparent dialogue designed to share stories, build empathy, and make wise decisions for the collective good.
The WCC co-chairs the Interfaith Liaison Committee to the UNFCCC and utilises Talanoa dialogue—a Pasifika methodology introduced at COP23—to bring the ethical, moral, and spiritual voice of faith communities to climate negotiations and advocate for the most vulnerable populations affected by climate change.
