Rev. Merlyn Hyde Riley, vice-moderator of the WCC central committee
Rev. Merlyn Hyde Riley is a graduate of the Ecumenical Institute of Bossey. She is an ordained minister of the Jamaica Baptist Union for over twenty years serving as a pastor, associate general secretary and now acting general secretary.
Hyde Riley is also a former President of the Jamaica Council of Churches. She is the first woman to serve in the office of General Secretary of the JBU its over 200 year history and the first to serve as president of Jamaica Council of Churches.
Rev. Merlyn Hyde Riley is a passionate ecumenist and gender justice advocate.
