From elderly people to teenagers, residents to tourists, people attended the celebration, which has been organized by the Noor Global association since 2020. The celebration was broadcast live on local television Léman Bleu.

A Coptic Easter ritual was led by Father Mina Hanna, while music was shared by a childrens choir from the Coptic Church as well as a choir from the Lutheran Church. Brother Alexis Helg, of the Roman Catholic Church, and Georgette Gribi, of the Protestant Church of Geneva, both offered reflections about their return to faith despite difficult times.

At the end of the celebration, while the cathedral pews were still full, Pillay delivered a blessing as well as a message of unity and reconciliation in these difficult times.

"Indeed, we are all pilgrims and co-pilgrims in this world trying to understand the sufferings, complexities, struggles, and inability to stop the violence, wars, and bloodshed,” he said. However, Jesus comes into our midst as he did to the two disciples on the Emmaus road to give us understanding, peace, hope, and transformation. The message of the resurrection is that Jesus is amongst us; he journeys with us in this life. We are never alone.”
